Our First Day in Scotland!
What a wonderful weekend! I can't believe how much fun we had. Friday morning we woke up early and caught a train to Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. These are pictures of Edinburgh Castle. It is amazing! It is literally built into the mountain side.
This is a picture of one of the entrances into the castle. If you notice the girl with the blonde hair hauling an orange bag, that is Whit. In fact all of us had to carry all of our luggage throughout the castle.
This is a view of a part of the castle that has been turned into a Scottish Memorial from inside the castle walls. They have a list of all the soldiers who have fallen and I actually found two Fotheringhams, George and John. My grandma would be proud I am sporting my family heritage.
This is inside St. Margaret's Chapel, the chapel inside the castle. It is known around the world. Suprisingly, it is really small. This is a picture of the alter. We actually were outside when a wedding was taking place and got to hear them play the bagpipes and saw the bride and groom walk out! A traditional Scottish wedding, it was so awesome!
This is a picture of me trying to be serious inside a guard booth in front of the castle. Don't mind the hair, it was raining and it got kind of out of control.

This looks like what I would picture a castle there to be. And you don't make a very good guardsman! They have stone faces.
