Shop 'till ya drop!

Today the girls and I, plus Adam, decided we would designate today as a shopping day. So that is exactly what we did. We kinda went crazy actually. We went to Portabello Road and shopped for two hours, then to H&M and little shops around there. I got tons of stuff for friends and family! We still have not gone to Camden Market or anything like that, but the shopping here is awesome. So we spent like two and half hours in H&M. We are so good at using the Tube too! You should see us, we know how to get everywhere now! Ya, I know, we are pros! Don't worry though, we will continue practicing our shopping skills throughout the trip! Cheers!

More Museums Baby!

Another day of pure Museum madness! We got the Design Museum and Tate in today. We also visited the London City Hall, which was awesome!

This was my favorite piece in the Tate Museum. It is just a bunch of wire strung in paper. It was so awesome. I can't imagine the time that was put into this work of art!

Isn't this the coolest car ever? It was in the Design Museum and it is just an interesting British car. I also loved the Formula 1 exhibit on the race cars in the Design Museum.

This is Shakespear's Globe Theatre on the way to the Tate. I would love to see a play in there! It is just a beautiful waddle and daub theatre with a thatched roof!

This is London City Hall, the one that looks like a sliced egg. It is a spiral inside and has the most comfy couch! I would know cause we all took a little nap on it. This way better than in city hall in SLC!

I just loved this view of London. It has Tower Bridge, the Thames River, and the city skyline in the background. I would love to take a boat ride on the Thames!

We also got to see Mary Poppins tonght, the Broadway Musical. It was way awesome! I loved the set design. I guess I just really appreciated it because I used to love the Disney movie when I was young!

Museum Frenzie

So we don't mess around. For real, we went crazy today with three museums in 24 hours. We went to the V&A, the Science Museum, and the Natural History Museum. I loved it!

This is a picture of the Great Bed of Ware. It was in the V&A and it was huge! This bed could sleep 5 average sized adults!

This is a dress in the V&A also. It is so funny; these days girls are trying to be as skinny as possible. But in Europe hundreds of years ago, wide had pride baby!

This is the tomb cover for King George III, I thought it was awesome. They also had tomb covers of the Knights of Templar!

This is a replica of the statue of David. I never realized how big it is. The statue is also really detailed. I can't believe a statue that large had that much intricate detail.

This was one of my favorite exhibits at the V&A. It was a 60's style exhibit. I can't believe the things they used to wear! What were they thinking!

Three museums was kind of an overwhelming experience, but I loved it. I would change aything we did today! I loved the V&A so much! I plan on going back to spend a whole day in it!

Hello London!

Well, we arrived safely! It wasn't a short trip, but it was so worth it! London is beautiful and I can't wait to see more. Here are some things I saw my first day...

This is a picture of Westminster Abbey. I have been excited to see this church ever since we learned about it in the History of Architecture. It is even more beautiful in person that it is in the photos.

This, of course, is Big Ben. To be totally honest, I never imagined it was this beautiful. I thought it was just a brown clock tower, but when you see it up close, it is so gorgeous!

The London Eye! Doesn't it look like so much fun? Unfortunately, we didn't get to ride it, but I would really like to.

The streets in London are a little different than in the states, that is for sure. It doesn't make sense to me. It seems like the streets go on in all directions sometimes. The cross walks are really random too, it is not like regular crosswalks at intersections, but sometimes they are just in the middle of the sidewalk.

I am so excited to be here! I can't wait to see more. This city is just as beautiful as I ever thought it would be. I can't explain the streets and the people. Just the vibe of the city itself is so amazaing!
